Host Port started with a couple of spare rooms, a messy spreadsheet, and a channel manager that cost more than it saved. We couldn't find anything that was both affordable and genuinely easy to use — so we built it ourselves.

Same night, two platforms, one very awkward phone call. The calendar that didn't talk to itself is exactly why Host Port exists.

It started with a double booking.

Two listings, two platforms, one calendar that didn't talk to the other. A guest booked a weekend that was already taken — and we spent a Sunday morning apologising instead of hosting.

So we went looking for a channel manager. Everything we found was either built for 200-room hotels, priced like it, or so complicated it needed a training course. We were two hosts with a handful of properties, not a revenue-management department.

We wanted something that set up in an afternoon, cost about the same as a coffee a week per listing, and never took a cut of our bookings. Something that felt like it was made by someone who'd actually waited up for a late check-in.

When we couldn't find it, we built it. Host Port is the tool we wished we'd had on that Sunday morning — calm, affordable, and quietly handling the busywork so you can get back to hosting.
